Poster Vignette & Conference recap

Here's another illustration from the poster I made for Averbode. This time the theme is the advent.

I went to the SCBWI winter conference in NY last weekend and it was awesome. Nice to meet a lot of my peers and some people I've been following on the internet for some time now. I came home with a lot of inspiration and even more business and postcards. My twitter and facebook account are now buzzing with new friends and comments. Not sure if I made an impression with the editors and art directors but time will tell.

Great trip!

It was nice to meet you in NY. I think we should form a new group called, "the mispronounced".

Yep, nice to meet you too. Of course up here in Maine, there's a lot of Wouters. It's really a very common name in Portland (founded by Wouter Cornelius Smith in 1686). I actually need to go, me and Wouter Q (one of the many Wouters in my immediate group of friends, hence the Q) are hanging out at "Wouter's Diner", 7 W. Wouterson Street. You're welcome to join us, I believe "Wouter and the Wombats" are playing a set (Australian Band).

Marvelous reply and then you didn't mention the mispronunciation of your family name yet.
